Non-Poetry

I would write shimmering sun poetry
About the fast silver flash of fish
Darting in rippled, cold rocky streams
Or the Spartan, brittle-splayed leaves
Of autumn birches, aspens and maples
But the words are like stodgy, solid cinder blocks
And will not flow like quick mountain streams
Or flutter like auburn autumn leaves

But then again
Poetry about non-poetry
Is blissful good enough.
