Mental Blocks
A new, titanium white page
Is the smoking, horned beast
Straddling the path forward
Blankness, absence and emptiness
Are hand-wrought, ten-pound irons
Binding willing, marching feet
Dry, sparse air reports not, stirs not
A captive spirit waits and wants
Unable to power the body glove
It is the unknown fear, that grim, conquering general,
Erecting jagged, maleficent fortifications
Against possibility, truth and hope
With a mighty, small, ink stroke
Needling demons are banished
Absence replaced with substance
Fear’s icy grip melts in the new sun
